Who We Are
We are a worker-owned cooperative with a mission to better ourselves and our community. Being a coop means that our business is voluntary, open, democratic, and engaged in community participation and education.
Jarrett
Jarrett Man is from Lunenberg, MA, and is a Hampshire College alumnus. He founded the original Stone Soup Farm in Belchertown, MA in 2008, and has been farming since that day. Since then he has also renovated and moved into a house in Hadley, MA along with many chickens, and married Katie Richardson. He has always wanted to farm cooperatively.
Susanna
Susanna Harro is from Saratoga Springs NY, and graduated from Wheaton College in Chicago. She completed 2 years of apprenticeship at the Kitchen Garden in Sunderland, MA and was hooked on organic vegetable farming. She is an avid runner, hiker, biker, and pretty much anything else that is active and out-of-doors. She is the opposite of a couch potato.
Amanda
Amanda Barnett is from Sharon, MA. She has degrees in Biology and Women’s Studies from UMass Amherst. She has farmed animals at Mockingbird Farm in Easthampton, MA, and vegetables at Riverland Farm in Sunderland, MA, among other places. She is very interested in yoga and herbalism, and keeps us supplied with health-improving teas, tinctures, and lotions. .
Dave
Dave DiLorenzo grew up in New London, NH, among the pine trees and granite. He studied at UMass Amherst and has been working on organic farms since. He loves pop music, bicycling, and Amanda Barnett.
